Shakhawat Hossain Bhuiyan, a central Jubo League executive member, Feni District Jubo League joint convener, and former municipality commissioner, has been arrested in connection with the student murder case during the anti-discrimination student movement in July.
On Tuesday (February 18) afternoon, members of the Feni joint force arrested him from his Bhuiyan house in Ward No. 15 of Feni Municipality.
Earlier, a case was registered against him at Lalbagh Police Station on January 12 in connection with the killing of a student during the anti-discrimination student-public movement in July. The 21st accused in the case filed against Sheikh Hasina is former Jubo League leader Shakhawat Hossain Bhuiyan, who was once a terror.
In addition, a charge sheet has been filed with the Advisor’s Office and the Anti-Corruption Commission to bring Shakhawat Hossain Bhuiyan under the law.
Confirming the matter, Model Police Station OC Mohammad Shamsuzzaman said that legal action is being taken against the arrested accused, former Awami League councilor Shakhawat Bhuiyan, and he will be sent to court.
