A mobile court has conducted a drive to stop illegal sand mining in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar. During this, fines were collected and sand mining equipment was destroyed.

The drive was carried out at 11:30 am last Friday at the mouth of the Banshkata Medher Canal and Khutakhali Chhara in Fulchhari of Khutakhali Union of the upazila. Chakaria Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Officer and Executive Magistrate Md. Erfan Uddin confirmed the truth of the drive.

He said that Nurul Islam, son of the deceased Tayyam Golal, a resident of the Fulchhari-Banshkata area of ​​Ward No. 8 of the union, was fined Tk 50,000 in cash for illegal sand mining. Later, a cello machine and a hundred-foot pipe were cut and destroyed at a place called Medher Canal and Khutakhali Charar Mukh. I have instructed the land officer to conduct miking throughout the union. Even after this, legal action will be taken against those who are involved in illegal activities, said Executive Md. Erfan Uddin.
