Two people, a van driver and a passenger, were killed when a truck hit them in Joynagar Bazar, Fhulbari, Dinajpur. On Wednesday (April 23), at 7:30 pm, a truck leaving the Birampur regional highway hit the back of a van in Joynagar, crushing the van’s passenger under the truck’s wheels, killing Eken Ali (50), son of the deceased Mois Uddin of Garh Pinglai village. The injured van driver was rescued from the scene in a critical condition by the fire service and police. Ayub Ali, son of Akram of Baraipara village, died on the way to Dinajpur Medical after receiving treatment at the Phulbari Health Complex.
Khandaker Mohibbul Islam said at the scene that the truck driver and helper, who were on the run, have been arrested. Traffic is currently moving normally.
