A festive atmosphere prevails in the tourist areas of Cox’s Bazar on the occasion of the 31st Night. Most of the rooms in hotels and motels have already been booked in advance. In addition, the administration has taken maximum preparations. However, the district administration has banned concerts or cultural programs on the beach and in open spaces. Cox’s Bazar, a tourist city, is ready to welcome tourists on the occasion of the 31st Night.

This time, tourism-related people are expecting more tourists than in other years. For this, the owners of hotels, motels, resort guesthouses and cottages have completed all preparations. Most of the rooms in all the hotels, motels, resort guesthouses and cottages in the city have already been booked until next Saturday. Abul Kashem Sikder, president of the Cox’s Bazar Hotel Guest House Owners Association, said that the rooms in hotels, resorts, guesthouses and cottages have been booked in advance.

Cox’s Bazar has the capacity to accommodate at least 150,000 tourists overnight in hotels, motels and resorts. However, more than 150,000 tourists spend the night on special days of the season. It is hoped that at least 200,000 tourists will gather in Cox’s Bazar around the Thirty First Night. According to tourism business sources, the number of tourists who will spend the night in Cox’s Bazar has increased this season. The number of tourists in Cox’s Bazar has increased as travel to the three hill districts is risky. As a result, the number of tourists in Cox’s Bazar has increased.

On the other hand, tourists will not be able to spend the night on St. Martin’s Island after December 31. As a result, tourists heading to St. Martin’s will also spend the night in Cox’s Bazar.

Altaf Hossain, a tourist from Dhaka, said, “We visited Bandarban all day and came to Cox’s Bazar in the afternoon. We will go to St. Martin’s on the morning of January 1 and spend the night in Cox’s Bazar in the afternoon.” Even if we visit Bandarban and St. Martin’s, we will spend every night in Cox’s Bazar.

Cox’s Bazar District Administration Executive Magistrate Md. Tanvir Hossain said that organizing concerts or cultural programs on the beach and in open spaces has been banned.

This decision was made at the district administration’s coordination meeting on organizing the Thirty-First Night last Tuesday. However, tourists will be able to roam the beach until midnight to celebrate the New Year in their own way. Several teams of mobile courts led by the Executive Magistrate will be on the ground. Measures have also been taken to reduce traffic congestion in the city.

Tourist Police Cox’s Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Asaduzzaman said that considering the safety of tourists, organizing the Thirty-First Night in open spaces has been stopped this time too. A campaign is being run to refrain from disorderly behavior. Law enforcement agencies will create several levels of special security zones on December 30 and 31. No one will be allowed to go to the beach without a search. Not only security, there will be a special team of tourist police to solve the problems of tourists.

Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin told reporters that fireworks and crackers are prohibited on the beach. However, several star hotels are organizing concerts indoors with the permission of the administration. Special security will be provided there
