Farmers in Barguna’s Amtali are overjoyed with the joy of cultivating Aman paddy. The seeds planted by Aman are swinging in the field. The farmers of the area are now having a very busy time. According to Amtali Upazila Agriculture Office sources, the target of Aman cultivation has been set in 23 thousand 381 hectares of land in 7 unions and 1 municipality of the upazila. Planting of Aman paddy in the land has already been completed.
The farmers of the upazila said that there is some delay in the cultivation of Aman due to heavy rain. According to the information of the agriculture department, the maximum amount of land is cultivated in 7 unions and 1 municipality of the upazila.
Among the cultivated Aman rice in the fields of these areas, BR-22 BR-23 BR-49 BR-52-BR-87 and many high-yielding hybrid varieties including Swarnagotta are also cultivated. At the beginning of the season, due to heavy rains, Aman fields were flooded. As a result, thousands of farmers were worried about Aman cultivation. Recently, because the rain water has gone down from these fields, there is a wave of joy among those farmers. If adverse conditions do not arise, the farmers are hoping that this upazila will have bumper crops.
Jalal Ahmed, a farmer of Sonakhali village in the upazila, said that the planting of Aman rice seedlings has been completed. Suman Mia, a farmer of Haldia, said that the planting of Aman rice seedlings has been completed by the grace of God. Hopefully there will be a good yield.
