Staff Reporter: On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the ‘Fair Price’ market has been inaugurated under the supervision of the Rajbari District Administration.
Rajbari Deputy Commissioner Sultana Akhter inaugurated the ‘Fair Price’ market by cutting the ribbon and releasing balloons at Railgate No. 2 area of the city on Wednesday (March 5) morning.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Imrul Hasan, NDC Nahidul Islam and others were present at the time.
After the inauguration of the fair price market, the Deputy Commissioner toured the market. Red leaf, leafy greens, eggs, watermelon, tomatoes, brinjal, green chili, onion, raw banana, sweet pumpkin, papaya, cucumber and other daily necessities of the market were seen in the market. On the first day, 5 shopkeepers came with their products.
At this time, Deputy Commissioner Sultana Akhter said, fresh vegetables brought from marginal farmers will be available in this market at a price of 2 to 3 taka less than in other markets. No shopkeeper in this market will have to pay any tax. Shops have been set up here under the supervision of the district administration. There is no need to pay shop rent. On the occasion of the month of Ramadan, a fair price market has been inaugurated keeping in mind that buyers can shop for raw vegetables at low prices throughout the month. This market will run throughout the month of Ramadan.
