On April 5, 2025, at approximately 7:30 AM, a clash broke out in Kaziarchar under Bilaspur Union of Jazira Police Station, Shariatpur, stemming from a rivalry between the “Boma Kuddus” group and the “Jalil Madbor” group during the last union chairman election. During the clash, homemade bombs (cocktails) were exploded. Though police from Jazira station brought the situation under control, another round of violence broke out around 8:30 AM on the same day in the village of Mulai Bepari Kandi. During this second clash, both groups randomly exploded cocktails, creating panic among the local population.
To restore peace and order in the area, Sub-Inspector (SI) Sanjoy Kumar Das filed a case at Jazira Police Station, Shariatpur. The case number is 05, dated April 6, 2025, under Sections 3/4/6 of the Explosives Substances Act, 1908, and relevant sections of the Penal Code, 1860. To bring the involved accused under legal custody, the investigating officer of the case submitted a requisition to the Commanding Officer of RAB-10.
Acting on the requisition, an operational team of RAB-10 increased surveillance. On April 14, 2025, at approximately 11:30 AM, based on intelligence and technological surveillance, the RAB-10 team conducted a raid in the Chunkutia area under South Keraniganj Police Station in Dhaka district. During the operation, they arrested the named accused in the case — Babu Madbor (45), son of Abdur Razzak Madbor, from Yasin Madbor Kandi, Jazira, Shariatpur.The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station.
