Election of “Dhakastha Barura Chhatra Kalyan Samiti” was held at Sirajul Islam Auditorium, Dhaka University on 15th December.
Professor Dr. was present as the chief guest. Ruhul Amin. Md. Russell Hossain served as Chief Election Commissioner and as Assistant Election Commissioner were all presidents and general secretaries of the committee from 2016 to 2022.
Nacher Ahmed Bhuiyan, Kamal Hossain Miyaji, Mehedi Hasan, Central Chhatra League Joint General Secretary Abu Yunus, Chittagong University Mass Communication and Journalism Department Lecturer Atiq Ullah and many others were present as observers. The program started with Quran recitation at 10 am. Then the current president and general secretary highlighted the activities of the past one year. According to the rules of the constitution, the treasurer presented the income and expenditure account for the year. After that, the responsibility was handed over to the Election Commissioner to conduct the election. The Chief Election Commissioner announced the constitutional rules of the election and started taking the polls. Out of 37 voters, 29 were present and voted. The results are announced after the counting of votes. Note that on December 8, the Election Commission announced the schedule through the football game, pitha festival. The current president Nazmul Mollah and general secretary Nawab Hossain will coordinate with the newly elected president and general secretary according to the constitution and publish the full committee with the permission of the Election Commission.
The Chief Election Commissioner, Prof. Dr. Ruhul Amin called Sir “a modern well-educated priest”. Finally, the chief guest said in his speech that student welfare should be the motto
“We are different people, different likes
Agreed for Barura’s sake”.
