Professor Dr. Ekushe Padak and Bangla Academy award-winning educationist. Mahbubul Haque passed away. He was suffering from heart disease and kidney complications for a long time. The teacher died on Wednesday (July 24) night while undergoing treatment at Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

His body will be brought to Bhatara’s residence in the capital on Thursday afternoon. After the funeral will be taken to Chittagong. He will be buried there tomorrow in the family cemetery.

Linguist, researcher and essayist. Mahbub was a former professor of Bengali Department of Chittagong University. He won the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2018 for his contribution to the essay.

It should be noted that the Bangladesh government awarded him Ekushey Padak, the country’s second highest civilian award, for his contribution to research.
