Haribala Biswas (50), the daughter of Swargiya Hemant Biswas with disabilities, and her only intellectually challenged Sahadar Hemlal Biswas (48) have no side in Dumki of Patuakhali. Destitute minority siblings are living a dehumanized life in dilapidated shacks damaged by various natural calamities in only one and a half percent of VT ancestrally. Born with intellectual disabilities, the disabled brothers and sisters are living a miserable life in winter and monsoons in the ancestral village without worrying about the locals. This is a real picture of the plight of a minority poor family of Haribala (50), daughter of the deceased Hemant Biswas, a resident of Ward No. 3 of Muradia Union No. 3 of the upazila, and her brother Hemlal Biswas (48). Once the land of the minority family was full of wealth, but today they are living an extremely helpless and inhumane life.

Last Thursday (January 8) at 12:30 p.m., visiting the house of North Muradia village of Ward No. 1 of Muradia Union of Sarezmin Upazila, the sad picture of the mentally challenged family was seen. At least: 40/45 years old dilapidated house with tin roof and wooden fence leaning towards south as if about to collapse. The timbers of the fence boards have come loose. The sky can be seen through the canopy. Such houses are unsuitable for dogs and cats to live in. In the meantime, helpless brothers and sisters with disabilities are living wet in severe cold and rain.

UP member of that ward Abu Hanif Howladar said, the family is intellectually disabled and both of them are disabled. Surviving with the help of family and neighbors. He also said that Haribala was not married due to intellectual disability. Brother Hemlal got married but his wife did not last. So the brothers and sisters are spending their lives without eating together. If you can make an arrangement for the head of the family, you will be saved from the storm, rain and cold. He also said that an application has been made to the District Commissioner to get government help for the family. But still no help came.

UP Chairman Md. Mizanur Rahman Sikder said that the family is really helpless. Need a suitable house to live in. I give some food assistance from time to time on behalf of the Parishad but it is very insufficient compared to the requirement. The family needs to be permanently resettled but cannot due to various constraints. Therefore, I am calling on the rich people of the country to come forward to help the mentally challenged family.
