In the Angaria Secondary School in Dumki, Patuakhali, in exchange of Tk 5 lakh, the pocket committee was secretly canceled, the school management committee was formed through elections and the head teacher was removed. The protest program was held by local people including parents. After the protest, they burnt the effigy of the head teacher. At 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, about half a hundred parents held this protest program at the main gate of Angaria Secondary School in the upazila. During this time, student guardian Md. Rezaul Haque Rajan, Md. Idris Molla, Md. Harun Mir, spoke. Speakers said, without announcing any schedule, the headmaster secretly formed a pocket committee with people of his choice in exchange for 5 lakh rupees. Therefore, the illegal committee should be canceled along with the removal of the head teacher. School teacher Md. Shahidul Islam said, the headmaster did not talk to me about the committee. Md. Harun Or Rashid, assistant head teacher of the school said, I heard that there will be a committee but I don’t know if it has happened or not. Babul Lashkar, the head teacher of the school, was contacted several times on his mobile phone to find out about this, but he could not be found. Upazila Secondary Education Officer Badrun Nahar Yasmin said, “I was presiding myself but I fulfilled my responsibility but I don’t know what the headmaster did.” Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Al Imran said that if the committee is formed illegally, action will be taken subject to investigation if complaints are received.
