Ramganj Correspondent:

Due to a family quarrel, a person named Rafi is trying to cut down and uproot various types of trees in the orchard of his homestead. Alamgir Hossain, son of influential Chakir Ahmed, Swapna Begum, wife of expatriate Shahajan, Nurul Islam’s daughter Moni Akhter, Abdur Rashid’s daughter Nurjahan, Faizal Karim’s son Yasin, and Saleh Ahmed, a group of other gang members, are trying to construct a multi-storey building. The truth of such allegations has been found by going to Sarjamin. Victim Rafi told Daily Laxmipur, “I and my family members are hostages to Abul Bashar and Rakibul Hasan Group, to the wife of expatriate Shahajan. They are cutting down various fruit trees and various types of items used in the house, including Shil Karoi, Hola Karoi, and constructing a multi-storey building in our place.” Rafi Gangra told reporters, “The expatriate’s wife Swapna Begum and her gang have almost built a house on the land that was inherited and purchased by us with false marks. In fact, they are not any of our heirs, and we will not get any land from us. We are the original owners. Since Wednesday (December 25, 2024), our opponents have been carrying out sudden terrorist attacks on us. As a result, 5-6 members of the victim Rafi family were injured in the incident of looting and cutting down the garden. The injured sought primary treatment from the village doctor in the village. According to local and eyewitness sources, Abdur Rouf Rafi, a permanent resident of Darbeshpur area, is the heir of various plots of land of his father, expatriate Rafiq Ullah. And he has purchased some more from various owners. Due to the absence of Rafi’s father, expatriate Rafiq Ullah, there has been a dispute with the Rafids over the 68th century land for the past few months. In this, mediation was held by the lawyers of both parties at the table of the chairman of the union parishad in the village and SI Anwar Hossain of Ramganj police station. No solution was found in this for the relatives of the victim Rafi family. Both sides have given contradictory statements. Meanwhile, Abdul Jalil Gang alleged that the land is the heir of my father. How was it possible to cut down trees worth about 7 to 8 lakh taka in the fruit garden of the house. And the defendant Gangra has started construction work by trying to build a multi-storey building. We want proper justice for this, from the police administration. Defendants Swapna Begum and Alamgir Hossain, along with Shahajan’s expatriate family members, are against the gangs. The incident of encroachment took place in Ward No. 3 of Ward No. 7 of Darvesh, Ramganj Upazila. Family members said that the place was our homestead fruit garden. Defendant Shahajan’s expatriate wife Swapna Begum has been trying to encroach on the gang for a long time.

Seeking the intervention of the administration, Nasir Ahmed said, the ownership of Ramganj Darbeshpur 69 Mouza is owned by expatriates Rafiq Ulya and Abdul Jalil Gangra, who inherited the property. Their Khatian No. 1255 is holding No. 937, the amount of land in the Khatian is 68 percent, whose marks are 2937,2938,2942. I am the owner of 95 percent of the land of RS Khatian No. 1013. whose marks are 2936,2937,2938,2942. I have been living in the house on that occupied land for the last 40 years. In the last three months, the group of the opponent expatriate Shahajan’s wife Alamgir Hossain tried to build a house on our occupied land by force. On the issue of the attempt to forcibly occupy the land, a complaint was filed with the Laxmipur District Superintendent of Police on Saturday morning, December 28, informing him about the details of the incident. The copy of the complaint was submitted to the officer-in-charge of Ramganj Police Station, OC. At one stage, the relatives of the victim’s family informed Ramganj Police Station SI Zayed Bhuiyan about the incident, saying that when expatriate Shahajan’s wife Swapna Begum was building a house on the land owned by our people, we stopped them. In this, Swapna Begum and Alamgir Hossain’s group brought a group of juvenile gangs and cut down trees and shrubs in our fruit garden and started construction of their multi-storey building. As a result, we were attacked by terrorists. Later, after the police went to the scene of the incident, they stopped the construction work on the illegally occupied land. And they ordered both parties to appear at the police station with all the ownership documents and accounts. Meanwhile, after secretly investigating the defendants, it was learned that Alamgir Hossain and expatriate Shahajan’s wife Swapna Begum, their family members do not respect the state law, which is why the police administration pointed its finger at the crime and showed what a powerful terrorist group is. When asked to talk to the accused after the incident, Swapna Begum, expatriate Shahajan’s wife, said, “Our building construction is going on on the land we purchased, Rafid’s property is not here.” As a result, when asked why he cut the garden, he did not answer anything and claimed that he was the owner of their property by purchase. No truth was found in this.
