Carp fingerlings have been distributed among 138 marginal fish farmers affected by the recent floods in Comilla Laksam Upazila.
On Thursday (October 31) at 11 o’clock in the premises of Laksam Upazila Parishad, through a program organized by the Upazila Fisheries Department, a total of 830 kg of carp fry were distributed to 138 marginal fish farmers in 8 unions and one municipality free of charge.
Laksam Upazila executive officer Abdul Hai Siddiqui was present as the chief guest of the event.
Project Implementation Officer Md Mazharul Islam, President of the Press Club Moshiur Rahman Salim, former President of the Press Club Abdul Quddus were also present in the fish distribution ceremony under the supervision of Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Md Shawkat Ali.
Farm manager Tajul Islam, other members of Pona release committee and local dignitaries were present.
