Under the agricultural incentive program organized by upazila agriculture office in Galachipa of Patuakhali, the crops of 11 items in the berry season, among the marginal farmers, on Tuesday, November 19 at 11 am under the chairmanship of upazila executive officer Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department, Khamarbari, Patuakhali, was present as the chief guest. He inaugurated the free seed and chemical fertilizer distribution program.
Md. Khairul Islam Mallik, District Training Officer, Khamarbari, Patuakhali, Department of Agricultural Extension, was the special guest. Upazila Agriculture Officer Arju Akhtar gave a welcome speech at the meeting. Also present were Animal Resource Officer Dr. Sajal Das, Thana Officer In-charge (Investigation) Md. Zainal, Press Club President M. Khalid Hossain Milton and all Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers of the upazila and the beneficiary marginal farmer brothers of the upazila. The meeting was chaired by Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Md. Akramuzzaman, Journalist Zillur Rahman Jewel, Shishir Ranjan Howladar etc.
At this time, the chief guest said to the farmer brothers present that farmers are the best children of the nation. In addition to paddy, all types of crops should be grown in Rabi season and we should be self-sufficient in food only then we can achieve success in agriculture. Meanwhile, the chief guest distributed free seeds and chemical fertilizers among 9 thousand 35 farmers of the upazila.
