In Rajapur of Jhalkathi, her relatives, residents and students have blocked the highway and demanded trial and arrest of those involved in the murder of Shahria Islam Tawheed.

On Sunday (November 19) at around 1.30 pm, an hour-long protest-human banding program was held in the area called Dakshin Rajapur Balai Bari of Rajapur-Bhandaria highway upazila. Relatives, local residents and students of the area participated in about 1000 people of various professions. The deceased Shaharia’s mother Tanya Begum, father Milan Howladar, uncle Tamal Hoseb Babu, Milan and other local people spoke in the human bonding.

The speaker complained that Shahriar did not return home after the school holiday last Tuesday, November 14. A man named Masud Talukdar built Belding House. There in the afternoon when the trolley driver Jahangir and his assistant Saiful were bringing sand, they hit my son Shahriar with the car and then killed him in a planned manner and first hid him in the building under construction and then hid the body in the canal of Tafalbari next to the house for the purpose of disappearance. After that, the bloody body was recovered and taken to the hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. On Sunday morning, in a room of that building, mason Nazrul Islam’s spade and blood stains were found. Mason is on the run since the incident. Even after 5 days passed in this incident, the police could not arrest anyone. Those involved are quickly brought under the law and justice is demanded.

Rajapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mu Ataur Rahman said that a death case has been filed in this incident, the exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy report and the investigation is ongoing, those involved will be brought under the law.
