Defamation case against 5 leaders including Chand in Rajbari

Rajbari District Awami League Joint General Secretary Sheikh Sohel Rana Tipu filed a case against BNP leaders after accusing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of making a defamatory speech at a public meeting in Rajshahi.
Filed a case in Rajbari court.

On Wednesday (May 24) morning, a case was filed in the Rajbari No. 2 Amli Magistrate’s Court under the Anti-Terrorism Act. In the case, it has been claimed that Awami League leaders and workers have been defamed to the tune of 20 crore rupees. The defendants in the case are Rajshahi district BNP convener. Abu Saeed Chand, BNP Standing Committee member Selima Rahman, Rajshahi City Corporation’s former mayor and BNP Chairperson’s advisor Mizanur Rahman Minu, Rajshahi City Corporation’s former mayor and BNP Chairperson’s advisor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, former Member of Parliament Adv. Nadeem Mustafa and 30 other unidentified people.

Rajbari District Awami League Joint General Secretary and former Dhaka University Chhatra League President Sheikh Sohel Rana Tipu, the plaintiff in the case, said that on May 19, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was threatened with death by provocative and defamatory statements at the BNP rally in Rajshahi district. Chand should be punished immediately.
Rajbari Bar Association Advocate (GP) Anwar Hossain said the court accepted the case. Rajbari district Awami League member Professor Nazrul Islam Khan, Harun-Or Rashid Manik, BM Ehtesham and others were present when the case was filed in the court.
