There have been allegations that a vested interest group is hatching a deep conspiracy to remove Imran Hossain, the secretary of Ward 25 of Narayanganj City Corporation, from his post.
After the change in the political landscape after August 5, the current interim government withdrew the mayors and councilors of all the city corporations in the country. Since then, the Nashik authorities have been trying to provide services to the city residents through secretaries in various wards of Narayanganj City Corporation. In continuation of this, Imran Hossain has served as the secretary in Ward No. 25, Nashik. While performing his duties, some opportunistic people made unfair demands on Imran. For example, he was unable to fulfill his demands for TCB cards, pregnant women’s allowance, heir certificate, birth registration and old age allowance along with government benefits. Meanwhile, several people in the area claim that the conspirators are spreading false propaganda in newspapers and online, including various social media, since they are unable to achieve their interests.
Several local residents have said that after Imran Hossain joined as secretary, they are getting good behavior and desired services from him. However, everything is no longer in Imran’s hands. He is an order-follower. He has to do his work according to the instructions and rules of the Nashik authorities. He cannot do everything he wants. Meanwhile, many people oppress Imran because he is not a local resident of this area. The locals demand from the Nashik authorities that Imran Hossain should not be threatened or removed by vested interests. And the residents of Ward No. 25, Nashik have also drawn the attention of the authorities to ensure that he can serve the people uninterruptedly.
Meanwhile, Imran Hossain said about the incident, “Since I am not a local resident of this area, some unscrupulous groups are spreading false propaganda against me because they cannot get their interests from me. I am not a permanent resident of this area and my house is in another district. Some local people used force on me and threatened me. You should investigate and see if I have done anything wrong. I want to serve the people properly. This is my wish to the Nashik sirs.”
Imam Hossain, the officer in charge of wards 24 and 25 of Nashik, said that he has spoken to the Secretary regarding the matter. He has assured to take appropriate action in this regard.
Narayanganj City Corporation Secretary (Deputy Secretary) Nur Kutubul Alam said, “I am aware of the matter. The official said that action will be taken after investigating.”
