Ā A journalist named Akhi Akhter alias Akalima Rahat Khan has been threatened with death in Bhatara of the capital. Akhi, the journalist, is working for the reputed portal iNews.org. On September 13 (Friday), Akhir threatened him on his mobile phone. The assailant is Abu Taleb Biswas (50), son of deceased Feju Biswas of Chandara village of Shalikha police station of Magura district. He is a broker by profession. He currently resides in Saidnagar area of ā€‹ā€‹Bhatara. A general diary has been made in this regard at Bhatara police station. According to the statement and general diary of the victim journalist, Akhi Khan is also the owner of a security service company called Mamun Enterprises in addition to his journalism profession. He appoints security guards in various organizations through the said security company. As his company hires security guards, their salaries are remitted to my company. When journalist Akhi Khan hired some security guards through accused Abu Taleb, they left without working. According to the defendant Abu Taleb, why is the salary of the person hired through him not paid to him? He misbehaved with me on this matter. He said in front of the people, why are you extorting a huge amount of money from me by employing manpower and not paying my people. He also said, various leaders and workers of Awami League-BNP and my brother police constables, OCs, DCs are there. My nephew OC, three constable nephews and many others are known to me and all are my right hand and left hand. My uncle is a major in the army, they don’t have to buy money anymore. Abu Taleb threatened journalist Akhi Khan with them to see me. One such voice recording of Abu Taleb went viral on social media. When Akhi tried to solve the matter without being equal in this regard, Abu Taleb verbally abused him and threatened him with death. GD also mentioned that since he was involved in the journalism profession, he had to travel to different places. Therefore Akhi Khan is suffering from insecurity due to such activities of Abu Taleb. He demanded that the attacker should be severely punished in this regard. When I called Abu Taleb’s cell phone in this regard, he did not receive the call. When asked about this from the officer in charge of Bhatara police station, he assured to take legal action.
