Crowds of students gather at Raju Bhaskar

The agitating students are gathering at the foot of Raju Bhaskara of Dhaka University to join the protest march demanding withdrawal of Prime Minister’s ‘insulting’ speech and one-point reform of quota.

From 12 noon on Monday (July 15), students started coming to the foot of the Raju sculpture in small processions from various halls. They kept raising slogans against quota there. The students of Dhaka Medical College have already joined the protest march of DU students. Also, students of seven colleges affiliated to Jagannath University, DU are also expected to join the protest. Coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement told Jago News that they are on their way to join the march.

Gathered at the foot of the Raju sculpture, the students ‘wanted rights-I became a Razakar’, ‘Bought in the blood of a million martyrs-the country is not of anyone’s father’, ‘You are not me-Rajakar Razakar’, ‘Ke Razakar Ke Razakar-Tui Razakar Tui Razakar’,’ Come brother come sister-gade tuli andolan’, ‘quota na medha-medha medha’, ‘compromise na struggle-struggle struggle’ – chanting slogans.
