Cox’s Bazar Municipality is getting a modern multi-purpose multi-storied building for the first time almost 154 years after its establishment. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s sincerity and district Awami League general secretary, current mayor Mujibur Rahman’s efforts, the foundation stone of this building was laid yesterday on Wednesday (July 5).The 10-storey modern building to be built at a cost of 35 crores will completely change the face of the tourist city if it is implemented. All the floors of the building will have various municipal offices. The building design has already been completed by Buet’s engineer.Under the Urban Development City Governance Project (UDCGP) project funded by the Bangladesh Government and JICA, it will take approximately one and a half to two years to see the light of the building. In this context, Cox’s Bazar Municipality Executive Engineer Engineer Parakram Chakma said thatall the facilities that are available in a city corporation building will be there. In this building. Because it is a first class special municipality among 339 municipalities across the country. Mayor Mujibur Rahman has taken the initiative to build this modern municipal building.
