Three institutions in Ramu Upazila and Cox’s Bazar Municipality have been fined 3 lakh taka through the BSTI Cox’s Bazar mobile court. The operation was conducted last Thursday.
Under the leadership of BSTI Executive Magistrate Bequn Nahar, mobile courts were operated in various areas of Ramu Upazila and Cox’s Bazar Municipality. At this time, in the context of (BSTI Act, 2018 and Weights and Measures Act -2018), the institution was fined 50 thousand taka for under-metering fuel oil at Nahar Filling Station on Ramu Bypass Road.
On the same day, through the operation of the mobile court, BSTI fined 50,000 taka for selling pickled products without the mandatory CM certificate and providing false information on the packaging of pickled products in Uttar Peshkar Para of Cox’s Bazar Municipality for violating the ‘BSTI Act, 2018’ and 2 lakh taka for selling packaged drinking water products without the mandatory CM certificate and packaging registration certificate from BSTI and 2 lakh taka for violating the BSTI Act, 2018 and the Weights and Measures Act -2018.
A total of 3 lakh taka was collected from 3 institutions during the operation. The mobile court was conducted by BSTI Cox’s Bazar Field Officer (CM) Shimu Biswas and Inspector (Metrology) Ranjit Kumar Mallik.
