 A woman from Dhanikhola Union of Upazila has filed a case in the learned Executive Magistrate Trishal Upazila Court of Mymensingh, alleging that two leaves of checks and non-judicial stamps of Tk 300 were signed by the Union Parishad by using bias and intimidation. According to the details of the case, Jasmin Nahar (32), daughter of Sirajul Islam of Char Kumaria village of Dhanikhola Union of Upazila, got married to Moksedul Hasan in 2017 in a family way and both husband and wife went to Saudi Arabia. During the corona epidemic, when her husband Moksedul Hasan died abroad, the family members of her husband conveyed the inherited property to Jasmine. Later, Jasmine got married to Mizanur Rahman, son of Abdul Mannan of Ramchandrapur village of Tarakanda Upazila, through a notary public. When there is money, she starts pressuring her to give five lakhs as dowry. Her husband also threatens to leak the relationship information if she does not pay the demanded amount. Jasmine Nahar, the plaintiff in the case, said that Mizan filed a complaint with Dhanikhola UP Chairman claiming the claimed money as owed money. Dhanikhola UP Chairman Mamunur Rashid Sohail called the Durbar on April 6. At that time, the plaintiff claimed that the chairman Sohel Mizanur Rahman took the decision to return the money. On the instructions of the chairman, he brought the check book of Jasmine’s account number 3316701047642 from Jasmine’s house to Sonali Bank Mymensingh corporate branch. Forced him to sign. This time also forcibly signed the white pages of three non-judicial stamps of one hundred rupees. Later, on April 10, the two pages of the check and the stamp were given to Mizan as the chairman. In this incident, the woman filed a case in Trishal Upazila Court, the learned executive magistrate of Mymensingh to recover the check and stamp. of which No. 308/2023. Defendant No. 1 of the case UP Chairman Mamunur Rashid Sohail denied the allegations and said that everything has been resolved through the court in the Union Parishad. Nothing has been done here by force.
