In the case filed by the wife of the former general secretary of Baufal upazila Awami League and former upazila chairman Abdul Motaleb Hawlader, the Dumki upazila correspondent Delwar Hossain has been held in human chain to protest against the conspiratorial accusation of Dumki correspondent of Bangladesh protidine Delwar Hossain.
Yesterday Saturday morning (at 11 am) media workers working in different print and electronic media in the upazila participated in Dumki new market area. The speakers immediately drew the attention of the administration to acquit journalist Delwar Hossain from the case of false allegations made in local incidents in the news pre-enmity. Otherwise, it was announced that a tougher movement will be formed across the country to stop the harassment of journalists.
Regarding illegal brick kilns, two news were published consecutively in daily Bangladesh Pratidin newspaper. Because of this, Mosammat Rehena Begum, the wife of Abdul Motaleb Hawladar, filed a case under Speedy Trial Act in the Patuakhali Vigyan Law and Order Crime Prevention Tribunal, whose case No. (98/2024) the present case is under investigation by PBI.
