A training workshop on “Prevention of Yellow Journalism and Objective Journalism in Mass Media” organized by Bangladesh Press Council was held in Moulvibazar on the morning of April 22. Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Md. Nizamul Haque Nasim was present as the chief guest in the event. The training workshop started with the participation of local journalists in the conference room of the District Commissioner with the cooperation of Moulvibazar district administration. Moulvibazar District Commissioner Dr. In the workshop organized under the chairmanship of Urmi Binte Salam, Moulvibazar Superintendent of Police Md. Manjur Rahman, BPM, PPM Bar, Moulvibazar Additional District Magistrate Mosa were present as special guests. Shahina Akhter, Moulvibazar Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Mohammad Saroar Alam. District Information Officer Md. Anwar Hossain delivered the welcome speech. Bangladesh Press Council Secretary (Additional) Shaal Chandra Karmakar was present as resource person. Among the journalists, Bakshi Iqbal Ahmed, editor and publisher of Dainik Banglar Din, Panna Dutta, general secretary of Moulvibazar Press Club, Md Zafar Iqbal, president of Moulvibazar District Journalist Union, general secretary of Moulvibazar Online Press Club and district representative of Dainik Aam Kanth Patrika Md Moshahid Ahmad, Now TV Moulvibazar district representative MA Hamid and others. Among others present were – Former General Secretary of Moulvibazar Press Club SM Umed Ali, Former General Secretary Saleh Elahi Kuti, Senior Journalist Dr. Sadiq Ahmad, Editor and Publisher of Dainik Moumachi Kanth Patrika Sheikh Sirajul Islam Siraj, Senior Journalists Syed Mohsin Parvez, Nurul Islam, Asian TV Moulvibazar District Representative Mahbubur Rahman Rahel, Md. Abdul Wadud, Hossain Ahmad, Abdul Bachit Khan, A.K. Alak, Omar Farooq Naeem etc. In the workshop, various discussions were held in the light of the principles of journalism and the code of conduct prepared by the Press Council. At the end of the workshop, Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Md. Nizamul Haque Nasim and other guests distributed certificates among the journalists.
