Joypurhat is observing a sit-in in front of the District Commissioner’s office by announcing a complete shutdown action plan in protest of the collection of additional rent from business establishments under the municipality.
Today, Sunday (April 20), from 10 am, about 500 traders under the municipality of Joypurhat are observing this action plan by closing their business establishments.
The traders said that they have been operating their business under the municipality for a long time by increasing their business establishments. Suddenly, the municipality authorities have given a notice of increasing the rent several times. In protest of this rent increase, their business establishments are observing a sit-in in front of the District Commissioner’s office from 10 am to 1 pm. And they will submit a memorandum to the District Commissioner.
