Comilla Victoria Government College is the oldest college in the country. Students do not want student politics in this family of about 29 thousand students. Students gave a memorandum to the principal on Wednesday (August 7) ​​morning to stop student politics in the college.
The memorandum was signed by the principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Abu Zafar Khan. He informed about sending this memorandum to the ministry.
In the memorandum, the students wrote, We are common students of Comilla Victoria Government College. Any form of student politics (with Chhatra Dal, Chhatra Shibir, Chhatra League and any other affiliated organizations) is prohibited in the college. Involvement in any kind of political activity shall not be with the college. If we the students of the college are harmed in any way by these groups then it is the responsibility of the college administration. Equal opportunities should be ensured for all. All kinds of political rooms should be abolished. We have to enforce our claim from today on this conviction. We will be disciplined.
Several students of the college said that we have been harassed by various political leaders in the college for many years. Even during the class, the elder brothers used to call for political marches or meetings. They used to harass us if we didn’t want to go. We don’t want this kind of politics in college anymore.
Halima Akhtar, a student of the degree branch, said that now is the time to stop student-politics in the camp. Because of this student politics there is a lot of disruption and chaos in the campus education.
Comilla Victoria Government College Principal Dr. Abu Zafar Khan said, the students have brought an application in this regard. I explained to them that this notification will be issued from the ministry. I cannot issue any notifications. They said to give me consent, they will submit it to the ministry. So I agree to it and sign it.
