Police have recovered the body of an elderly woman named Shaheda Akter (65) from inside the toilet tank of a house in Chauddagram, Comilla. The deceased Shaheda Akter is the wife of Imam Maulana Abdul Momin of Purba Dhanusara village in Gholpasha union of the upazila. Officer-in-charge of Chauddagram Police Station Hilal Uddin confirmed the information about the deceased.
Circle SP (Chauddagram-Nangalkot) Nishat Tabassum visited the scene. It is learned that the body was found in the toilet tank next to the deceased’s house in Dhanusara Purbapara of Gholpasha Union of the upazila on Monday (January 3).
The deceased’s husband, Maulana Abdul Momin, said that he was the imam at a local mosque. Like every day, he left the house early in the morning to lead the prayer. At that time, his wife was preparing for prayers. The two of them lived in the house. After finishing the prayers, he came home at around 7 am to look for his wife. Without looking anywhere in the house or around the house, he saw his shoes and clothes outside the toilet next to the house. With the help of people, he immediately took a broom from the house and lifted the lid of the toilet tank and saw his wife’s naked body. The police came and recovered the body from the toilet.
The deceased’s son, rural doctor Masum Billah Wahed, said, “We live in the old house. Only my parents live in the new house. I don’t know who or what killed my mother for what reason.”
Chauddagram Police Station Officer-in-Charge Hilal Uddin said, “We reached the spot after receiving the information and recovered the body. A preliminary examination of the deceased has been conducted. The PBI investigation team is working at the spot. It will be known whether it was murder or something else after the autopsy
