Mohammad Iqbal (55), a teacher of the physical education department of Ukhia College, was brutally murdered in a dispute over shop rent. Police have arrested a man named Mohammad Sharif alias Battal (45) in this incident.The incident took place at around 1:30 am on Sunday (April 20).Ukhia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Arif Hossain confirmed the matter and said that Iqbal and Sharif had an argument in front of their house in Ghilatoli on Sunday around 1:30 am over the issue of shop rent.
Local witnesses said that during a dispute between the two parties over rent, the assailant attacked Sharif Iqbal and seriously injured him. Hearing his screams, relatives and locals rushed to rescue him and took him to the hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. OC Mohammad Arif Hossain said that the arrested Sharif is the son of Shamsul Alam of East Sikder Beel area of ​​Ward No. 5 of Rajapalong Union. The police are continuing the operation to arrest the rest. The deceased is Md. Iqbal Hossain, a teacher of the physical education department of Ukhia Degree College and the father of local journalist Iftiaz Nur Nishan. It is worth mentioning that on April 7, 4 people, including a woman, were killed in the same union due to a land boundary dispute.
