A college student has been accused of raping her in Khulna city on the pretext of marriage. Police have arrested her accomplice Humayun in this incident. The college student has filed a case with Khulna Sadar Police Station in this regard.
Confirming the matter, Khulna Sadar Police Station OC Hawlader Sanwar Hussain Masum said, a case has been filed with the police station accusing three people in the rape incident. A person named Humayun has been arrested in this incident. Arrested Humayun is a friend of the main accused Jyoti. He is the son of Abdul Majid, a resident of Rupsha Standard Road.
The victim college student said that she is a 12th grade student of a college in Khulna district.
Two months ago, she met Jyoti, son of Humayun Kabir Himu of Sultan Ahmed Road in the city, at the Khulna City Corporation Market. After that, they started dating. At some point, they decided to get married. But the college student did not know that Jyoti was married before. Taking advantage of the college student’s weakness, he tempted her to marry him. The college student also agreed to his proposal.
On April 26, Jyoti invited the college student to his friend Zahid’s five-story rented house on Rupsha Standard Road in the city. Taking advantage of the fact that no one was home, he had physical relations with the college student. After that, Jyoti’s alleged boyfriend called her and pressured her to have physical relations with his two other friends. If she did not agree, he stopped contacting the college student and threatened to inform everyone about the intimate moments they had spent in private.
The victim college student further said that on Monday night, she went to Jyoti’s house on Sultan Ahmed Road with a marriage proposal. When she got there, Jyoti threw her on the road and physically abused her.
The young woman had injury marks on various parts of her body. In addition, Jyoti threatened to kill her if she came to their house with such demands later. In such a situation, she found no other way out and informed the Khulna police station. After receiving her complaint, the police raided Jyoti’s house, but the accused fled after getting news of the raid.
The police raided the five-story house at Rupsha Stand with the victim student and arrested her accomplice Humayun.
