Cleanliness drive in Laksam on Youth Festival

The participation of young people in the protest “Come and change the country, change the world” on the occasion of the Youth Festival 2025 in Laksam. A cleanliness drive has been conducted in Laksam city with the cooperation of the municipality.

On Tuesday (January 28) morning, the cleanliness drive was conducted under the initiative of the Upazila Administration under the direct participation of the Upazila Executive Officer and Municipal Administrator, Kausar Hamid. Present at the time were former Mayor of the Municipal Assembly Alhaj Mazir Ahmed, Upazila BNP Member Secretary Abdur Rahman Badal, Municipal BNP Convener Abul Hashem Manu, former President of Laksam Press Club Abdul Quddus,
Secretary Mojibur Rahman Dulal, officials of various departments of the Upazila and Municipality and students of educational institutions.

In addition, students participating in the anti-discrimination movement, all government offices, education offices of the upazila, civil society leaders, media workers working in various print and electronic media, and sanitation workers were present in the cleanliness drive. In his speech as the chief guest at the cleanliness drive, Upazila Executive Officer and Municipal Administrator Kausar Hamid said, “We have divided the municipality into 15 blocks and inaugurated this program simultaneously. We want to protect our environment by avoiding the use of polythene and plastic. In addition to motivating everyone, including students, youth, and the youth community, to think well and follow hygiene rules, we also want to build a livable and model Laksam municipality with the joint cooperation of everyone.”
