Prominent Industrialist, City Group and Chairman of Time TV Fazlur Rahman passed away (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). He breathed his last at a private hospital in the capital on Monday (December 25) around 4 am. He was suffering from respiratory disease for a long time.

At the time of his death, Fazlur Rahman left behind a wife, one son and three daughters and numerous benefactors. His Janaza is scheduled to be held at Gandaria Dhupkhola grounds on Monday.

The activities of City Group started on February 6, 1972 by the hand of Fazlur Rahman. After the success of the first venture, Citigroup started investing in new areas. At this time mainly investments are made in production, industry and trading. In the early 90s, Citigroup undertook more projects and initiatives. At present there are more than 40 companies under the industrial group. About 25 thousand people are working.

The annual turnover of the company is about 25 thousand crores. In addition to the domestic market, various products including flour, oil are going to USA, China, Japan, Malaysia, India, Cambodia and Nepal.
