Chhatra League cut the paddy of disabled farmer Masud in Barura, Comilla. Barura Upazila Chhatra League harvested 32 percent of the land of a farmer named Masud Mia, a disabled (crippled) farmer of Kashami village in the upazila, as part of the program of the central Chhatra League on Wednesday, May 3 from morning to noon. The paddy of the farmer’s land is ripe, but the farmer could not cut the paddy due to lack of workers, and Barura Upazila Chhatra League has started this paddy cutting program to stand by the farmers. The concerned beneficiary farmer said that it used to take a laborer’s wages to cut my ripe paddy. Chhatra League activists cut my paddy for free. It has benefited me a lot. I am grateful to them. Chhatra League leaders said that the paddy of the land is ripe, but the helpless farmers could not cut the paddy due to lack of labour. At that time, under the direction of the president and secretary of Central Chhatra League, under the leadership of former president of Barura Upazila Chhatra League Md Saddam Hossain and former general secretary Nuruzzaman Shaheen, 32 percent of the farmer Md Masud Mia’s land was cut and delivered to his home. President Saddam Hussain said, we are determined to work not only for the development of farmers but also for the implementation of the agricultural revolution and for the integration of smart agriculture with the fourth industrial revolution. As per the instructions of Sheikh Hasina, the most trusted friend of the farmer, we are playing an important role in cutting rice and delivering it to the home during Boro season. We want to inspire youth in agro-technological innovation and agro-economy. Under the leadership of Bangabandhukanya, the youth will build a prosperous-farmer-friendly, smart-climate-tolerant Bangladesh. Upazila Chhatra League leader Golam Talukder Rabbi, General Secretary of Chhatra League No. 6 Mahabir, Ward No. 6 Chhatra League leader, Fahim, Shaon, Sajib College Chhatra League leader Rakib, Akter and other leaders of Upazila Chhatra League were present at the time.
