The 149th foundation anniversary of The Theosophical Society established for the welfare of world humanity was celebrated on Sunday 17th November at the initiative of Comilla Theosophical Society.
On this occasion, social and cultural organizer Ed. Shahidul Haque Swapan, Professor Nikhil Chandra Roy, Sheikh Abdul Mannan, Amrit Lal Dutta, Kazi Saimul Haque, Journalist Bahar Raihan, Journalist Jahangir Alam Imrul, Journalist Masud Majumder, Professor Rahul Taran Pintu etc. The meeting started with a public prayer led by Chandan Das.
Everyone stood and observed a minute’s silence in memory of the late two former presidents of the Comilla Theosophical Society, Dharmarakshit Mahathero and Principal Dilip Pandit.
At the proposal of Shahidul Haque Swapan, a nine-member ad-hoc committee was announced with Principal Tapas Bakshi as the convener and Chandan Das as the member-secretary for the reformation and practice activities of the Comilla Theosophical Society. It was accepted unanimously. Other members of the committee are Amrit Lal Dutt, Rahul Taran Pintu, Bahar Raihan, Khairul Azim Shimul, Jahangir Alam Imrul, Khokon Chand and Masud Majumdar.
