General Secretary of Tangail Sadar Upazila Awami League and former chairman of Hugra Union Parishad Tofazzal Hossain Khan Tofa has been accused of threatening to kill a local businessman. The businessman and his family are fleeing from the village due to this fear. On Tuesday (May 9) at noon in Moisha village of Hugra Union of Sadar Upazila, the victim businessman Md. Shaheen Alam made the complaint in a press conference held at the premises of his business RSS Plastic Door Factory. In a written speech at the press conference, the businessman said. Shaheen Alam said, on January 9, 2016, the former chairman Tofazzal Hossain Tofa proposed to me to sell 46 and a half percent of the agricultural land of Moisha Mouza, which he received from his ancestors. The selling price of which is fixed at 5 lakh 77 thousand seven hundred taka. On that day, after paying 5 lakh 25 thousand taka in cash and leaving 52 thousand 700 taka, the local UP member Md. I completed the deed of the said land under the witness of Majnu Sarkar and reserved women member Panchtara Begum. As the land survey was completed, we set up RSS Plastic Door Factory on that land. Currently 30 workers are working in this factory.

In his written statement, he also said that for 7 long years, Tofazzal Hossain Tofa has been making various excuses without giving me the registry document of his registered property. When I pressed for the above land registry, on February 25th at 11 am, Tofazzal Hossain Tofa, along with his cadre force chief Farid, several terrorists came to my institution and threatened to kill and disappear. At one point the terrorist Farid tried to kill me with a bamboo envelope. When people came forward and threatened to kill me, they left. Later, I filed a case in the Tangail Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on March 5 to protect the said land. Besides, Tangail Sadar Police Station did not accept the General Diary (GD) due to the influence of the Awami League leader. He said, I have set up that factory with a loan of 50 lakhs from bank and private level. Currently, the factory is about to be closed due to the fear of that League leader and me and my family leaving the area. In addition, due to the insecurity of life, I have run away with my family and have become indebted. In the press conference, he sought the cooperation of the local administration to save the life of his organization and family. UP member at the press conference.
