A passenger bus caught fire in front of Dhaleswari toll plaza in Munshiganj on Bangabandhu Expressway. Three passengers were burnt. This incident happened on Friday (November 24) around 12:30 pm.

Passengers said that the passenger bus was going to Kuakata from Dhaka. On the way, when the bus reached Dhaleswari Toll Plaza at around 12:30 PM, a sudden fire broke out in the bus. Instantly, the fire spread throughout the bus. While most of the passengers, driver and helper were able to get down from the bus, three passengers were burnt. Sheikh Hasina sent one of them to the burn institute in critical condition.

Sirajdikhan Fire Service reached the spot and brought the fire under control. Badal Rahman, in charge of fire service, said that after receiving the information, 1 unit quickly reached the spot and brought the fire under control in twenty minutes. He also said that the damaged bus is being removed.

Nahin Reza, executive engineer of Munshiganj road and township department, said, initially, it is believed that the fire may have occurred due to the mechanical fault of the bus.
