Brahmanbaria Zilla Parishad’s five crore project to preserve the memory of the Liberation War

The district council has taken initiative to protect the memories of the liberation war scattered all over Brahmanbaria. As a part of this, monuments in the name of the organizers of the liberation war and titled freedom fighters will be set up along with the preservation of the battlefields of the liberation war, martyrs’ graves, mass graves and cremations, and memorial squares of the liberation war will be set up on various road islands. Five crore taka will be spent on the implementation of these three-year projects. 

Zilla Parishad Chairman and District Awami League General Secretary Bir  Al-Mamun Sarkar mentioned these issues in a press conference on Sunday afternoon. He gave details about the project in the press conference held at the Zilla Parishad auditorium. Besides, he answered various questions of the journalists and invited suggestions to the journalists.

In the press conference, Al-Mamun Sarkar said that Vijayanagar, Akhaura and Kasba along with Brahmanbaria district headquarters are famous as the pilgrimage sites of the great freedom fighter. Many historical battles have been organized in these areas. Memorials will be constructed at these places with the aim of developing the spirit of the Liberation War from generation to generation.
