The second phase of the election in Borhanuddin Upazila was held on May 21. In this election, Zafar Ullah Chowdhury was unofficially elected as upazila chairman by getting 29289 votes with pineapple symbol. Abul Kalam Azad got 18964 votes with his nearest rival Doat Kalam. Besides, Mohammad Ali Hira has won the post of Vice Chairman by getting 27267 votes. His closest rival Hasib Chowdhury Bandhan got 15134 votes with the airplane symbol. Aktarun Necha won with 37429 votes with female vice chairman Kalas Pratik. His nearest competitor Prajapati got 14699 votes. Out of 82 centers, the results of 81 centers were announced unofficially by Borhanuddin Upazila Returning Officer and Upazila Executive Officer Md. Raihan Uzzaman.
Upazila Election Officer Manjur Hossain said that the election was completed without any untoward incident. Those who have won are requested to follow the rules of the Election Commission. Note that the total number of voters in Borhanuddin upazila is 215674.
