The body of tourist Abir Hossain was recovered by the fire service diving team after 27 hours of his disappearance in the water of Mithamin Haor in Kishoreganj.

At around 6 pm on Saturday, Mithamin zero point on Etna-Mithamin-Ashtagram road was recovered in a floating condition.

The missing tourist, Abir Hossain, is the son of Abdul Alim and Ankhi Akhtar, residents of Uttar Mugda Para, Dhaka Metropolitan Area.

According to fire service sources, last Friday (July 12) Abir came to Kishoreganj Haor area with his family along with his mother Akhin Akhtar. Around 3 o’clock in the afternoon, they went down to take a bath in the Haor water at Mithamain zero point area.

At that time, Abeer went missing in the water while trying to help a companion who was swept away by the current. Later, Kishoreganj Fire Service’s diving team started the rescue operation at 6 pm after receiving the information. Due to the lack of light, after a break at night, they started the second round of rescue operations at 8 am on Saturday.

Mithamin fire service station in charge. Saiful Islam said that the body was recovered and handed over to the police station at 6 pm after a day-long rescue operation on Saturday.
