BGB seizes Indian goods worth crores of taka in border area

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized Indian goods worth crores of taka in several raids in the Indian border area of ​​Feni.

These raids were conducted in the Indian border areas of Chhagalnaiya and Fulgazi upazilas of Feni on the night of November 21 (Thursday).

The notification said that BGB patrols conducted anti-smuggling raids in Rajeshpur, Devpur, Chhagalnaiya, Champaknagar and Madhugram Border Out Post (BOP) areas of Fulgazi and Chhagalnaiya upazilas, which are the responsibility areas of Feni Battalion (4 BGB) on Thursday night. Indian lehengas, sarees, Kashmiri chadors, three-piece suits, glasses and 20 kg of Indian marijuana were seized from these areas in the raids.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, commander of the 4th Battalion of the BGB in Feni, gave this information in a press release on Friday (November 22).

The process of submitting these seized goods, estimated to be worth 1 crore 18 lakh 4 thousand 400 taka, to the Department of Customs and Narcotics Control is in progress.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, commander of the 4th Battalion of the BGB, said that their operational activities and intelligence activities are continuing to maintain security at the border and prevent smuggling.
