After a long wait and resolving all complexities, the election of the Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (BARVIDA) is set to take place on Saturday, December 21. The organization’s top leader, Abdul Haque, confirmed that the election will be conducted as per the previously announced schedule.
At a brief press conference held on Friday afternoon in Naya Paltan, Abdul Haque stated that the Ministry of Commerce has resolved the hearings involving both parties and has withdrawn the letter that was an obstacle to the election. This withdrawal was confirmed in a letter signed by Pulak Kumar Mandal, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce. The letter stated, “The letter bearing memo number 26.00.0000.157.33.041.92.815 has been withdrawn by order.”
Abdul Haque further added, “Certain groups had maliciously attempted to disrupt the democratic process of the organization. However, through the Ministry of Commerce’s proper decision and resolution of the hearings, we have overcome all obstacles. The election will be held smoothly on Saturday.”
Leaders of the organization welcomed the decision and stated that BARVIDA’s progress will continue in adherence to democratic principles. They expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Commerce and all involved parties.
Following the announcement of the election, hundreds of members gathered at the Hawks Bay Center in Naya Paltan to celebrate. The enthusiastic members expressed hope that they would cast their votes on the scheduled date to elect their representatives through the democratic process.
The election has generated significant excitement and enthusiasm among the organization’s members, serving as a testament to the practice of democracy.
