Comilla’s Barura in Upazila Parishad elections, Md. Hamid Latif Bhuiyan (Kamal) was elected as the Chairman, Md. Farhad Hossain as Vice Chairman and Minuara Begum Mahila as Vice Chairman. Chairman candidate Md. Hamid Latif Bhuiyan (Kamal) won privately in Barura Upazila Parishad elections held.

On Tuesday, May 21, by getting 90 thousand 927 votes with pineapple icon. The nearest competitor is the current upazila chairman AMN Mainul Islam who got 41 thousand 6 show 23 votes. The total number of voters in 136 centers was 3 lakh 54 thousand 31 votes. The total number of valid votes given is 1 lakh 34 thousand 59, the number of invalid votes is 4 thousand 7 hundred 79, the total number of votes given is 1 lakh 38 thousand 8 hundred 38, the percentage of votes given is 39.22%. The administration organized the election in a peaceful manner.

In this election Md. Farhad Hossain won by getting 60 thousand 11 votes for the post of Upazila Vice Chairman. The closest rival Shah Md Kamal Hossain got 48 thousand 870 votes in the symbol of glasses. Minuara Begum won with 66 thousand 599 votes for the post of female vice chairman. Jannatul Ferdous Morzina got 33 thousand 1 hundred and 42 votes with the closest rival football icon. Barura Upazila Executive Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Nu-Emong Marma Mong thanked all for the cooperation of rival candidates, journalists, administration officials, and civil society leaders to make the Barura Upazila Parishad elections a success. The winning candidates and those who failed to win together requested everyone’s cooperation to make Barura upazila a developed and smart upazila.
