On the occasion of the great Victory Day, a discussion meeting and cultural program were organized by the initiative of the Bangladesh Nationalist Youth Party Barura Upazila Adda Union branch.
A discussion meeting and cultural program was organized at the Piligiri Kharul Haji Abbas Ali High School (known as Mujib Nagar) grounds of Adda Union in the Upazila on December 16 (Monday) at 6 pm.
Local election and national election center at Pilgiri Kharul Haji Abbas Ali High School ground of Adda Union Upazila. The center is known as Mujib Nagar Center. BNP has never won at the ballot box in this center since 2001. BNP has not held any discussion meeting or meeting procession in this center for the last 17 years. Adda Union Jubo Dal has organized discussion meetings and cultural programs on the occasion of Independence Day for 17 years.
Barura Upazila BNP Senior Vice President Kausar Alam Selim was present as the chief guest at the event, while BNP General Secretary Syed Zahirul Haque Swapan, Upazila BNP Convener and Former Municipal Mayor Jasim Uddin Patwari, Adda Union BNP President and Zafar Ullah, and Upazila BNP Senior Joint Convener Mustafa Kamal were present as special guests.
Shawkat Iqbal, assistant teacher of Adda High School, delivered the welcome speech. Leaders of Union BNP, Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal also spoke.
Speaking as the chief guest, Barura Upazila BNP Senior Vice President Kausar Alam Selim said, Major Ziaur Rahman called for independence. After fighting for 9 months on Ziaur Rahman’s call, Bangladesh gained independence in exchange for the honor of 3 million martyrs and countless mothers and sisters.
After the discussion, the cultural program began. Artists graced the cultural stage.
Former Organizing Secretary of Barura Upazila Chhatra Dal Shah Imran, Adda Union BNP Vice President Abul Kalam, General Secretary Mokhlesur Rahman, Joint General Secretary Monir Hossain and Organizing Secretary Kazi Sharif Hossain and leaders of Adda Union BNP affiliates were present at the time.
