Comilla’s Barura there have been reports of attacks and vandalism in residential houses over a land dispute.

According to the source of the complaint, it is known that after the plaintiff Abdus Sattar Bhuya retired from the Bangladesh Rifles, while living in Greece in search of livelihood, his own brothers, nephews and sisters, together with the plaintiff’s inheritance and purchase, rejected the names and deposits of various shares of the property received by the plaintiff. After coming to the country after learning about the matter, the plaintiff filed a case in the learned Comilla District Judge Court, whose case No. 279/2021 Eng. The case is currently ongoing. While the case was ongoing, he returned to the country after completing the Hajj in Saudi Arabia by applying to the learned District Judge on July 1. While performing Hajj, the defendants obstructed the entrance of the plaintiff’s residence with bamboo rams. On questioning the defendant in this regard, the defendant became desperate to attack the plaintiff, and threatened to kill him if he did not hand over the land title. On Monday, July 8, when the witness of the case was finished in the Comilla Court and went to enter the house, the defendants attacked the plaintiff with a group of sticks and domestic weapons (Da Khunti), beat them and broke the doors, windows and glass of the plaintiff’s house. Vandalized and caused extensive damage. At that time, when the local residents came forward with their shouts, the defendants ran away. Unable to take legal action in this regard, the plaintiff Abdus Sattar appeared at the Bhuiya Barura police station and lodged a written complaint.
In this regard, the officer in charge of Barura police station Md. Riaz Uddin Chowdhury said that based on the complaint of the plaintiff, SI Md. Sumon of Barura police station (complaint investigation officer) went to the spot and brought the situation under control and collected evidence, he said that the matter is under investigation.
