Barisal beat Sylhet in the playoffs

 Fortune Barisal confirmed the playoffs as the second team after defeating Sylhet Strikers in BPL.   On Sunday (January 26) at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla, Sylhet won the toss and batted first and were bowled out for 116 runs.  In response, Barisal did not have to get much speed to bat to win.  Tamim-Mushfiq’s 60-ball 81-run partnership secured the play-offs with 24 balls in hand and an 8-wicket win.
 Two openers Tamim Iqbal and Tawheed Hridoy started to bat with the aim of winning.  But Hridoy could not settle on the wicket for long.  This opener returned to Sajghar after being victimized by Nahidul Islam with 6 runs from 7 balls.  David Malan also returned to Sazghar with 9 runs off 8 balls.
 Keeping one end, Tamim Iqbal kept the run wheel going.  Mushfiqur Rahim joined him in the third wicket partnership.  Barisal reached the port of victory with 4 overs remaining in the duo’s impeccable 81-run partnership.  Tamim Iqbal remained unbeaten on 52 runs off 51 balls.
 Mushfiqur remained unbeaten on 42 runs off 30 balls.
 Rangpur Riders are on top with 16 points in 9 matches.  Fortune Barisal is second with 14 points.  Chittagong Kings’ points are 10, they are third in the table.  And Khulna, which is number four, has 8 points.
 Durbar Rajshahi is in fifth place with equal points.  Dhaka Capitals are number 6 with three wins in 10 matches.  Sylhet Strikers are at the bottom with 4 points.
