Bank official arrested on charges of raping a teacher as a lure for marriage

 An officer named Ershad Ali (33) has been arrested by the police in Joypurhat on the charge of raping a teacher (30) as a lure for marriage. He was sent to jail by the court on Tuesday (May 2) morning. This was confirmed by Jaipurhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sirajul Islam. Earlier on Monday (May 1), the rape victim filed a complaint with the concerned police station and the police arrested her from her rented house in Bagan Mahalla of Janiya city. The arrested Ershad Ali is working as an officer (Cash) in the PanchBB branch of Agrani Bank, Joypurhat. He is the son of Montaj Ali of Utkura village of Boda upazila of Panchagarh. According to the source of the case, it is known from the source of the case that the teacher met the bank officer about three years ago. Then a love relationship developed between the two. On the evening of March 14, Jania Bagan in Jaipurhat Municipal area took her to a rented house and raped her with the lure of marriage. Attempts to settle the matter through marriage failed. Then on Monday (May 1), the school teacher, who was the victim of rape, filed a case in the Sadar police station mentioning the name of a person. The police arrested him soon after the case. Jaipurhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sirajul Islam said that Ershad Ali, a bank officer, was arrested from his rented house on the charge of raping a school teacher as a lure for marriage. He was sent to jail by the court on Tuesday.
