In view of the theme of unity, service, development, a discussion meeting and iftar mahfil on the role of union members in increasing the production of agricultural products and attracting remittances through banking channels was held at Vijaynagar, Brahmanbaria, under the initiative of the Bangladesh Union Member Organization “BAISS”. Md. Rafiqul Islam Sabuj, Brahmanbaria District Convener of Bangladesh Union Member Organization “Bayss” and Member of Ward No. 4 of Akhaura Monionda Union Parishad, presided over the discussion meeting and Iftar party organized in Champaknagar Union Parishad hall room on Sunday afternoon. Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, chairman of Champaknagar Union Parishad No. 4, was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting and Iftar Mahfil organized by the Bijaynagar Upazila Branch of the Bangladesh Union Member Organization “BISS”. Champaknagar Union Parishad member Md. Rezwan Mia, former chairman Md. Faridul Haque, Akhaura Moniand Union Parishad member Md. Rafiqul Islam Dulal Mridha, Vijaynagar Ishapura Union Ward No. 3 member Md. Humayun Kabir, Singerbil Union Parishad member were present as special guests in the event. Md. Mamun Chowdhury, Md. Fatema Begum, journalist Md. Mosharraf Hossain Kabir, Akhaura representative of Mohana Television, members of 10 union parishads of Vijaynagar upazila, members, members of civil society, dignitaries of the area and many others were present. It was informed by the organizers of the event, Bangladesh Union member organization “BAISS” has been providing services to the people on behalf of the local government, it was discussed in the event to accelerate this organization more. Also, the members of the present Union Parishad discussed the formation of the committee of “Bayss” at each police station and union level of the district. During this, they discussed in detail the role of the Union Parishad members in the development of the agricultural sector and bringing remittances from the diaspora to the banking channel.
