Bangladesh Tennis Team’s participation in the 2023 Davis Cup

Bangladesh will participate in the ‘2023 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone’ competition. On this occasion, a press conference was organized at the conference room of Bangladesh Tennis Federation on 20 October 2023. The press conference was attended by Bangladesh Tennis Federation Vice President Md. Motahar Hossain (Saju), Bangladesh Tennis Federation General Secretary Abu Saeed Mohammad Haider and Treasurer and Davis Cup Team Captain Khaled Ahmed. It was mentioned in the press conference that the ‘2023 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Region Group-5’ competition will be held from 25-28 October 2023 in Isa Town, Bahrain under the approval of International Tennis Federation and under the management of Bahrain Tennis Federation. A total of 13 teams from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Laos, Macau, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Qatar, Tajikistan and Yemen will participate in the competition. The following Bangladesh team will leave Dhaka for Bahrain on 23 October 2023 to participate in the competition and will return to the country on 29 October 2023 after participating in the competition.

Accommodation for the players in Bahrain has been arranged at Art Hotel & Resort. Captains meeting and draw will be held on 24 October 2023. The 13 teams will be divided into 4 groups and each group will play preliminary rounds in a round-robin league format. The result of each match will be determined by the results of 2 singles and 1 doubles. Based on the final results of the competition, the two teams will be promoted to ‘2024 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group-4’.
