Deputy Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry Habibun Nahar said that Bangladesh is moving forward in all directions under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He has made Bangladesh a role model in the world to combat climate change. He said that if the sea level rises due to climate change, the southern part of the country will be in deep crisis. With increasing water salinity, many areas will go under water. To get rid of this crisis, the world leadership must work sincerely. Environment Deputy Minister Habibun Nahar said these things in the chief guest’s speech at the ministry’s SDG progress review and knowledge and experience exchange workshop held on Sunday at the meeting room of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. In the speech of the President, the Secretary of the Ministry Dr. Farhina Ahmed said that the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is responsible for implementing a significant part of the SDGs in Bangladesh. Besides enforcing laws to control air and noise pollution of the country, the ministry is working to continue the life and livelihood of people. He urged the officers and employees to work actively in the implementation of SDGs to improve people’s quality of life despite many limitations and challenges. Md. Akhtar Hossain, Chief Coordinator of SDG Affairs of Prime Minister’s Office and Director General of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics Md. Motiar Rahman spoke as special guests on the occasion.
