Bangladesh in plane strike mechanical fault due to bird

A Bangladesh Biman Airlines plane suffered a mechanical fault after being hit by a bird at Syedpur Airport in Nilphamari. Later, the flight took off late.

The incident happened before landing at the airport around 8:30 am on Sunday (August 11).

According to airport sources, the plane was preparing to land at Syedpur Airport after coming from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Around 8:30 in the morning, the front part of the Bangladesh Airlines BG 4491/492 model collided with a bird. It causes mechanical failure. However, after correcting the error, the plane left for Dhaka with 73 passengers.

Syedpur Airport Manager Bahauddin Zakaria confirmed this to the media.

He said that around 8:30 AM, the Bangladesh Airlines flight with 71 passengers on its way to land at Syedpur Airport was hit by a bird hit outside the airport boundary. This caused some malfunctions in the aircraft. Fixing errors takes time. Four hours after fixing the error, the plane again left for Dhaka at around 12 noon with 73 passengers.
