Bangladesh announced Women’s World Cup team by showing surprise with expatriates

This year’s women’s T20 World Cup was supposed to be held in Bangladesh. But due to political unrest it was moved to UAE.

Despite not being able to host the World Cup at home, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has kept a different tone in announcing the World Cup team.

BCB has announced the 15-member team in a special video message on social media this afternoon. The expatriates scattered in different countries of the world told in that video who is in the women’s world cup team of Bangladesh.

10 expatriate Bangladeshis from 10 countries announced the names of 15 players. Bangladesh men’s team captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto was also in the 2 minute 41 second video. Good luck to the niggas Shanta. This new initiative of BCB is being appreciated.

The team consisting of experienced and young cricketers will play in the World Cup in the United Arab Emirates under the leadership of Sultana Joti of Niger.

Joti got the captaincy as a consistent performer in Bangladesh women’s cricket. He is accompanied by seasoned all-rounder Ritu Moni, Fahima Khatun and pacer Jahanara Alam.

Jahanara Alam has great experience of leading Bangladesh’s pace bowling in the international arena. Nahida Akhtar is expected to perform well in UAE’s slow-condition spin attack.

Suvana Mostari, Murshida Khatun are in the batting lineup. Taj Nehar, Sultana Khatun and Disha Biswas will play as all-rounders.
